A
Little Bit Longer
Artist: The
Jonas Brothers

A Little
Bit Longer is the amazing follow up
album to Kevin, Nick and Joe’s self-titled album, Jonas Brothers. A
Little Bit Longer is filled with different styles of music from sweet
ballads and love songs to rock songs with amazing guitar riffs. On the album
there are many stand out tracks including Love Bug, their acoustic
ballad, Pushing Me Away, BB Good, A Little Bit Longer,
a song Nick wrote about his dealings with diabetes, and of course their 2008
smash hit Burning Up.
This album
simply blew me away with its balance between fun pop lyrics and sweet melodies.
This album not only makes you want to get up and dance, but it also makes you
want to just have a good time. If you are a fan of the pop-rock genre, this
is the album for you!
Most embarrassing moments
I went
into the bathroom at school and it smelled awful! It was clear that someone
had done a REALLY big job…and not too long ago. I was standing alone in that
stink pit. When the gossipiest girl came in (just my luck), got a whiff, and
before she left (more like marched out in disgust), she looked at me as if to
say "Oh you sicko!"
One time,
when I was in kindergarten, we had been watching a video. I was sitting with
my classmates, when I unexpectedly had a little gas in the form of a fart. Almost
immediately after the sound died away, I said “excuse me” because that’s what
good little girls are supposed to say after making noises like that. Everyone
laughed at me. My face turned red, I stood up, stomped over to the cubbies and
grabbed my bag. I was going to go home but my teacher stopped me.

Dear
GiGi,
I
am moving to a new house, in a different state! I am scared I won't be able
to make friends in the middle of the school year. I am also worried that my
old friends will forget me! Help!
-Moving
to Michigan
Dear Moving
to Michigan,
Don’t worry;
I know you will make friends at your new school. Be sure to join a Girl Scout
troop! Clubs are also a great way to stay involved and meet new people. Of
course your old friends won't forget you! You can still stay in touch by email,
phone or even snail mail! Moving can be hard but it’s a great way to make new
friends.

Dear
GiGi,
Many
of my friends have parties when their parents aren’t home. They are having another
party in two weeks and keep teasing me about not going. What should I do?
- Tired of being teased
Dear Tired of being Teased,
Even though
you are getting teased, to protect yourself, you really shouldn't go to a party
when the parents aren’t home. It could be unsafe. Why don't you consider having
a supervised party at your home? This way your friends will stop teasing you
and you can have fun in a safe environment.

Girl Scout Cookie eating
tips
By:
Staff
Here are some
of our favorite ways to eat those classic Girl Scout Cookies. Read, try and
enjoy!
- Dip Thin Mints in hot tea.
- Crumble Thin Mints over mint
or chocolate ice cream! Yum!!
- Take a Thin Mint and add peanut
butter on top with five chocolate chips
- Scrape off the chocolate on
a Thin Mint and then eat the inside mint part!
- Trefoils taste especially good
if you dip them in a mug of hot chocolate! Yum!
- I'm a simple cookie eater and
just like dipping Trefoils into milk. If you haven't tried it, you should
try it soon! IT’S SO GOOD!
- The weirdest way I eat cookies
is to eat the chocolate and peanut butter off of a Tagalong and then eat the
actual cookie part.

DIY - How to make a
bracelet
By:
Carlisa J.

- Cut one strand of hemp that’s
around six times the length that you want for your bracelet.
- Cut a second strand of hemp that’s twice the
length of the first, or roughly 12 times the length of the bracelet.
- Fold both strands in the middle one at a time,
making a crease at each midpoint.
- Knot the creased midpoints together, leaving
a loop at the end that’s about 1/2- to 3/4-inch long.
- Secure the knotted end of the bracelet to something
that wont move.
- Arrange the four strands of hemp twine so that
the two shortest strands are together in the middle, with a longer strand
on each side.
- To knot the hemp, pull the right outer strand
away from the middle strands. With your left hand, guide the right outer strand
over the two middle strands, then under the left outer strand, creating a
figure four.
- Holding the figure four in place, weave the left
outer strand under the two middle strands and up through the middle of the
figure four. Tighten by pulling on both outer strands.
- Repeat the figure four knot on the opposite side,
beginning with the left outer strand.
- Alternate the figure four knot on either side
for a flat bracelet.
- Add a bead by threading it on the middle two
strands. Knot around the bead using the figure four pattern. Leave at least
one or two knots between each bead.
- Continue knotting and adding beads until the
bracelet is long enough to wear around your wrist.
- Complete the bracelet by tying the four strands
together in one knot.
