Camp CEO Girl Reference Form | Camp CEO Girl Application
For girls in the 10th & 11th grade, Fall 2010 Camp CEO is a wonderful way for 24 teen Girl Scouts to engage with 24 of Atlanta’s most accomplished women executives during six days at camp. Get an inside look into the women’s successful
careers, including challenges they faced, choices they made and
skills they developed. The women are committed to ensuring that participants get the encouragement they need to see themselves as future CEOs. Camp workshops focus on building leadership, professional skills and positive self-image. Investigate personal safety and health
issues, explore key aspects of personal finance and talk with the
CEOs about their job experiences and career paths. Selection will be based on earned Girl Scout awards, school and
community involvement, demonstrated leadership, character and
citizenship. Please request an application packet from Jill Allison,
Outdoor Program Manager, jallison@gsgatl.org or (770) 702-9151. All applications and recommendations forms are due by March 26, 2010. *Financial Assistance available
DASHboard Road Safety Patch Program
For Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors

It may come as a surprise to many that traffic accidents are the number one cause of death among teens. Moving vehicles pose more of a threat than guns, suicide or disease. Mile for mile, teenagers are involved in three times as many fatal accidents as all other drivers, and hundreds of thousands of teens are injured in traffic accidents each year.
For the above reasons, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, in partnership with GEICO, has created the DASHboard Road Safety Patch Program for Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors. The program addresses a variety of road safety topics - everything from distracted driving to car maintenance to road safety careers. Find out how YOU can make a difference on the road by earning the DASHboard Road Safety patch.
Download the DASHboard Road Safety Patch Program activity booklet here.
The following documents are worksheets that correspond with specific activities listed in the activity booklet. You can pick up a hard copy of all of these documents from the Atlanta Service Center.

Girl Scouts partner with Microsoft for online safety
The LMK ("let me know") is an online safety campaign created in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA and Microsoft. With the escalating popularity, increasing access to the
internet and online technologies, it is important for teens and parents to be aware of the dangers that exist in cyberspace. The LMK campaign not only creates a space for internet safety experts and teen peer advisors, it also provides guidance about topics like cyberbullying and online sexual predators. The adult components of the campaign help teens to bridge the digital generation gap between themselves and their parents.
The campaign includes an interactive Web site for teens, as well as an e-newsletter and Web site for adults.
Being online, texting and IMing are a part of your life. You probably understand how the internet works better than your parents do. LMK was created by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. in partnership with Windows to help you change the world every time you go online. Empower yourself so that you can educate others on the reality of being a teen online and help adults understand the real issues that affect you every day. LMK will provide you with the know-how to safely navigate your online life and even help your parents to understand it.
Go ahead: explore the site! Check out online safetly tips, take a quiz on how much you know about social networking, become and expert on cyberbullying, test your knowledge about online sexual preditors, meet the girls that make up the editorial team join a forum and so much more!
Join the network and learn how you, your friends and your parents can take advantage of all the great things technology has to offer...and do it safely!
