Welcome to the 2013 Annual Report for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Inc.
Through Girl Scouting, girls and adults are becoming leaders in civic engagement, environmental stewardship, outdoor leadership, international programs, advocacy, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), financial literacy, and in leading healthy lifestyles. With more than 60,000 members, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is the largest, most active, female voluntary service organization in the region.
In partnership with committed parents and other adults, Girl Scouting develops qualities that will serve girls the rest of their lives - strong values, social consciousness and convictions about their own potential and self-worth. As a result, girls develop the skills needed to help them avoid unhealthy behaviors, make responsible decisions and overcome challenges throughout their lives.
Girl Scouts is the premiere leadership development organization for girls and young women. Leadership is not just modeled in words, but in actions. As an example of leadership and in keeping with the Girl Scouts' commitment to environmental stewardship and conservation, we have elected to reduce our carbon footprint by publishing our 2013 Annual Report in "green" fashion, online with limited print copies available. Leveraging new technology, our Annual Report is still a page turner!
