Camp Pine Valley Resident Camp Discontinued

Due to a number of factors—including the cost to update the facilities required to support a safe and enjoyable environment for Girls, Volunteers, Parents and Staff as well as the number of girls being impacted, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta has decided to discontinue Camp Pine Valley summer resident camp sessions.

While this is a program shift, we believe it is an opportunity for girls to explore a more robust experience while making new summer camp memories at one of the Council’s other resident camp properties:

  • Camp Pine Acres, Acworth
Best known for a variety of water sports, Camp Pine Acres offers sailing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, wind surfing and paddle boarding.

  • Camp Timber Ridge, Mableton
A rustic resident camp experience similar to Camp Pine Valley, Camp Timber Ridge also features an advanced high and low challenge course.

  • Camp Meriwether, Luthersville
Hosting all your favorite camp activities and known for its English horsemanship program for beginner to advanced riders.

  • Camp Misty Mountain, Armuchee
A similar warmth and beauty that you loved at Camp Pine Valley and is known for its Western horsemanship program and trail riding for beginner to advanced riders.

We know Camp Pine Valley is a beloved property and keep in mind, the Council will continue use of the camp. You will be able to stay connected to Gypsy and the Camp Pine Valley staff while they host events, camporees, and troop camping experiences throughout the year. In addition, this year the Council will kick-off a new annual reunion weekend for all Camp Pine Valley resident campers, alumnae, and supporters. This will be a time each year where we can reflect on and celebrate the time-honored legacy and history of our beloved camp.
