The Girl Scout Cookie Program and the Girl Scout Chocolates & Magazines Program enable troops and girls to generate their own money for activities, camping adventures, international trips and community service projects. The programs also generate funds for all Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta initiatives.
When girls participate in these two product sales programs they gain confidence and develop people skills with every customer interaction. Girls learn how to set challenging goals and how to work together as a team to reach them. Being part of the largest girl-business is not only a valuable learning experience for girls, it’s tons of FUN!
Deliver the Girl Leadership Experience to over 46,000 girl members in 34 counties spanning 200 miles.
Provide volunteer training to more than 17,000 adult members.
Give over $52,000 annually in scholarships for higher education. In addition, membership and camp scholarships are awarded to girls, whose families need assistance in order for them to participate.
Provide required insurance for girls and troops to safely participate in activities.
Maintain five camp properties covering 2,400 acres that deliver Outdoor Program. Expenses include insurance, upkeep, proper land stewardship, staff, tents, bunks, tables, commercial kitchens and pool supplies.
COUNCIL SUBSIDIZED ACTIVITIES
Provide financial support for council-sponsored events to keep activities affordable and more accessible for all members.
Maintain four regional Service Centers (Cumming, Dalton, Griffin and Mableton) and five Girl Scout Badge & Sash Stores.
