    • Name:Playing the Past @ Stone Mountain
Description:Have you ever wondered what life was like for girls that lived in times gone by? Come explore the past at Stone Mountain Park’s Antebellum Plantation and Farmyard and experience how girls lived life over 150 years ago. Of course, people had to eat but there were no trips to the grocery store, only what you could grow in your garden. Visit our garden to learn about growing your own food and take home a seed to start a garden of your own. Once you had grown your food, you would still need to cook it. Learn about preparing food in a real cook house and get a chance to make some butter! It wasn't all hard work, a girl’s got to have some fun! Come experience an old fashioned recess and learn to play the games of graces, hoop and stick, jacks and marbles. In our one room school house ,you will have the chance to make your own doll and a special handmade Mother’s Day card! No trip through time is complete without the right look, so you will get a chance to dress like a real lady of the period. Come spend a day a “Playing the Past” with us and earn a participation badge for your scouting vest too! Tickets can be purchased at www.stonemountainpark.com/scouts for $21 plus tax. Parking is $15 per vehicle.

Description:For over 25 years, Girl Scouts have been camping with their fathers at Mountain Jubilee. These special fall weekends are designed for Dads and daughters to relax and enjoy time together in a beautiful outdoor setting. Currently registered (2013-2014) Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors and their Dad, or favorite adult guy - uncle, big brother, etc., along with unregistered sisters may attend Mountain Jubilee. Many Dads with more than one daughter will attend 2 weekends, to have time alone with each daughter. Girl Scouts and their Dads will enjoy primitive camping in your own tent or camper, or one of our platform tents. If you have a group of 16-28 attending together, you can rent one of our cabin units. Fire rings, shelters, water spigots, picnic tables, pit latrines, port-a-potties and showers are also available. Arrive on Friday afternoon or evening to check-in and setup your campsite. Many of the weekend’s activities are included in your registration fees - candlemaking, screen printing, lanyards, canoeing, square dancing and more (for dad’s and daughters in 4th grade and up)! Other activities are at an additional fee - leather craft, bag to screenprint (or bring your own item), horseback riding and challenge tower. Participants plan and prepare all their own meals. A fantastic Sunday morning breakfast buffet is available for an additional fee.
