Jack serves as president of Palmer & Cay, the 145 year old insurance brokerage firm which he successfully re-launched in 2010. The Cay family has avidly supported Girl Scouts for 70 years and, as a father to two girls, Jack is passionate about girl’s leadership development.
Jack's professional experience includes serving as a London broker, specializing in risk management strategies for the Private Equity industry, establishing and managing de novo operations in New York City, and serving as President of one of the largest privately held insurance brokerage firms in the nation.
Early in his career, Jack worked in London for HSBC Gibbs, a highly respected Lloyd's broker, where he gained valuable experience brokering North American risks into Lloyd's syndicates. During this time, Jack worked with underwriters "sitting on the box" at Brockbank and at Beazley, two top Lloyd's syndicates.
In 2000, Jack joined Palmer & Cay's Atlanta office as a client executive specializing in the Private Equity industry. The favorable response from the private equity community prompted Jack to establish an office in Manhattan where he built a culture that attracted some of New York's most sought-after insurance talent and a roster of blue chip New York clients.
In 2005, Jack was named president of Palmer & Cay as the firm was going through a time of material change. As the fifth generation of the Cay family to lead the firm, Jack worked closely with his father and the management team to position the company for what resulted in a successful sale for shareholders.
While serving with Wachovia, Palmer & Cay's successor, Jack led the firm's national initiative to cross sell insurance products among bank clients. Five years later Jack left what is now Wells Fargo Insurance Services to re-launch Palmer & Cay. Today, Jack is once again building a team of respected professionals and a roster of blue chip clients.
An active member of the Atlanta community, Jack is involved in a number of community organizations, including the Children's Hospital of Atlanta, where he is a member of the Emerging Leaders Committee for Children's. Jack also serves on the board of the Georgia Nature Conservancy, and is on the Finance Committee of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. He is involved with the Georgia Chapter of CCA (Coastal Conservation Association), The Georgia Historical Society, and YPO (Young Presidents Organization).
