 Checklist to Register for Training

Enroll in training with these easy steps:

If you are a girl and are looking to take a class for the first time:

-          Please send your name, address, phone number, and email address to twildy@gsgatl.org.  (Note: If girls do not have a personal email address they can use a parent's email address, as long as they do not share the same first AND last name.)

-          Once you have been entered into the system, you will be sent a welcome email asking you to come back to the site (follow the link provided in the email).

-          You will be asked to create your login and password.

-          Upon logging in, click the link on the main page in your “My Information” area to the right, which says “Click here to access Learning Opportunities."

-      Follow the steps below for "Current Volunteers." 

Current Volunteers:

1)       As a current volunteer, you will need to first obtain access to the Volunteer Portal by clicking to "Request Registration Link" in order to receive your login credentials for the Volunteer Portal​, as well as SkillPort – the council’s new Learning Management System (LMS).  If you find you are having issues receiving these credentials, please contact Katie Bower at kbower@gsgatl.org or call at 770-702-9156.  

o   If you have forgotten your password or username, you may also use the links for ‘Forgot your username’ or ‘Forgot your password.’  You will need to provide the email address that you have used to register for classes previously in order to retrieve this login information.

2)      Once logged into the Volunteer Portal, on the main page in your “My Information” area to the right, click on the link that says “Click here to access Learning Opportunities.

3)      You will then be logged into SkillPort, the council’s new Learning Management System (LMS) and can search the catalog for courses and sessions that you would like to take.  Please note the information below that that explains how to access and enroll in each type of course that the council offers.

 

Free Courses:

1)       Click Catalog in the left navigation

2)      Click to expand the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Learning Opportunities folder

3)      Click to expand the Instructor Led Training folder

4)     Click to expand the Free Courses folder

5)      Find the name of the course you would like to register for

6)     Hover over the course name and to the right in a blue link you will see Sessions, click Sessions

7)      In another window, you will now see a list of the sessions and available seats for each session for that course.

8)     Click the Session ID of the session you would like to register for

9)     Click Enroll Me

10)   You will notice now that the session that you have enrolled in is in your My Plan area, which you can access from the left navigation. Access your My Plan section to see a full list of courses and sessions that you have registered for.

 

Courses with Fees:

1)       Click Catalog in the left navigation

2)      Click to expand the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Learning Opportunities folder

3)      Click to expand the Instructor Led Training folder

4)     Click to expand the Courses with Fees folder

5)      Click the only course listed titled “Paid Courses Link”

6)     In the course details there are explicit instructions for how to access the list of courses and sessions that require a fee

7)      You will be asked to select your course from within a webpage and pay for the course as well

8)     Once you have paid for your course(s), the course will show up in the My Plan area of SkillPort

9)     From here, you will need to select the session that you would like to take.

10)   Hover over the course name and to the right in a blue link you will see Sessions, click Sessions

11)     In another window, you will now see a list of the sessions and available seats for each session for that course.

12)   Click the Session ID of the session you would like to register for

13)   Click Enroll Me

14)   You will notice now that the session that you have enrolled in is in your My Plan area, which you can access from the left navigation. Access your My Plan section to see a full list of courses and sessions that you have registered for.

15)   You will notice now that the session that you have enrolled in is in your My Plan area.  Access your My Plan section to see a full list of courses and sessions that you have registered for.

 

Online Courses:

1)       Click Catalog in the left navigation

2)      Click to expand the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Learning Opportunities folder

3)      Click to expand the Online Courses folder

4)     To take the course immediately, hover over the course name and to the right in a blue link you will see Launch, click Launch

5)      If you would like to add the course to your My Plan section, hover over the course name and to the right click the link for Show Details

6)      Click the folder icon to add the course to your My Plan section

7)      It will be automatically noted in the system that you have completed the course once your launch and participate in the training video.

*New leaders and assistant leaders should sign up for:

1)       New Leader Training (before meeting with girls)

2)      Trip and Travel Online (before traveling outside of the meeting place)

3)      Money Management Online (before setting up a troop bank account – also for treasurers)
