Program Aide is a national mentoring award earned by Girl Scout Cadettes. The complete requirements to earn the Program Aide Award can be found in The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting for Cadettes.
STEP ONE -- Earn one Leader In Action (LiA) Award.
STEP TWO -- Complete Program Aide Core & Specialty training. Training will include learning to work with children and gaining a deeper understanding of a specialty area such as science, art, the outdoors, or adapting activities for girls with disabilities. Trainings dates will be listed on the Event Registration Calendar.
STEP THREE -- Use your new knowledge to work directly with younger girls over six activity sessions. This might be assisting girls on Journey activities (in addition to the activity completed to earn the LiA award), badge activities; working with a group at a day camp, or during a special council event. You will have earned the Program Aide Award after completing Steps 1, 2, and 3.
If you have completed your Program Aide CORE Training, consider becoming a Strong4Life Coach and working with a group of younger girls to complete their six activities to earn their Strong4Life patch.
When you have completed all six Strong4Life activities with a Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie or Junior troop, please fill out this survey. This is the last step in earning your Strong4Life Coach patch. You must fill out the survey to earn your patch. Parents, for more information about Strong4Life, visit www.strong4life.com.
